Dharmaraja Temple is situated in the Nagarathpet locality of Bangalore. The Temple has two outstanding images, Sri Dharmaraja Swami, one of the main characters of the Hindu mythology Mahabharata, and the other of Lord Krishna. Dharmaraja Temple is also very closely associated with the Karaga Festival of Bangalore. A representation of Draupadi (wife of Dharmaraja) is the Karaga, which is kept in the Dharmaraja temple. Devotees worship ‘Draupathi’ here as a symbol of Goddess Shakthi The Karaga festival is usually celebrated in the month of March or April. It is also taken to Dargah of the Sufi Saint Tawakkal mastan. In the evening, the procession comes to an end and the Karaga is placed back inside the Dharmaraja Temple.
